I make websites.
Julia Blaukopf
Like many artists, Julia had a portfolio website from a few years ago that she couldn’t update. She’d also started a separate blog and discovered how convenient it is to use software like WordPress to keep her readers up to date about her work. So she brought me in to do the sensible thing: integrate her portfolio and blog into one cohesive website that she could easily update on her own. Now, whether it’s a new blog post, gallery, press mention, book, or link, Julia can update her site using the WordPress platform she was already familiar with from blogging. On the front end, I designed a brand new minimalist layout that really lets her work stand out, and even better, it uses the latest responsive design techniques to make the layout adapt to different devices, so it’s optimized whether you’re viewing it on a desktop monitor or iPhone.
CancerCare Redesign
As part of CancerCare’s web team, I took part in the in-house revamping of cancercare.org. We began the 20-month process by gathering feedback from the organization’s social workers and visitors. This led to several key goals in the project: make navigation simpler, improve usability through design, and implement a custom content management system to make updates across the site easier and more consistent.
The Birchwood Crusher
I designed this enticing mini-site for an in-production horror film. Features include a photo gallery and a password-protected area where potential backers can download the script.
Shira Zimbeck
After I made some updates to her old web site, Shira approached me when it was time for a redesign. Features of her new site include a customized video player, in-page audio player, and a news feed that she can update without touching any code.
Neshanic United Methodist Church
For my church’s first website, I designed a simple, friendly site with all the relevant information someone would need to get to know and find us.
CancerCare Online Annual Report 2009
While working at CancerCare, I was lead web designer and developer for their first online annual report.
